Randahl Construction executed a complete industrial floor renovation at Activar’s manufacturing facility, overseeing demolition and reconstruction of equipment-bearing concrete slabs. Our team removed over 2,000 square feet of damaged 6-inch concrete before installing three specialized platforms: a 1,260-square-foot primary section at 10-inch depth, a 504-square-foot reinforced base engineered at 24-inch thickness for heavy load capacity, and a 280-square-foot supplementary area built to 10-inch standards. Each platform featured precision-formed 2-inch recessed channels along all edges for rail mounting systems, with compression-resistant foam barriers at junction points to prevent stress transfer between concrete segments. To maintain uninterrupted production during construction, our crew deployed a 7,200-square-foot protective enclosure separating work zones from active manufacturing operations.

Project specifications required 5,000 PSI fast-setting concrete with double-grid steel reinforcement (½” to ⅝” rebar at 12-inch spacing) instead of wire mesh, ensuring load-bearing capacity for industrial machinery foundations. Randahl’s crew managed every phase: demolishing existing concrete, excavating and compacting 12 inches of Class 5 aggregate base, then applying power-troweled finishes with commercial-grade sealants. Our scope included grouting anchor systems three weeks post-pour, complete debris removal and disposal, plus coordination of third-party engineering inspections with certified documentation. This project demonstrates Randahl’s capability in complex industrial concrete work that meets rigorous performance standards while maintaining uninterrupted facility operations.
