Randahl Construction managed an extensive concrete slab replacement at Activar’s production site, directing the tearout and rebuilding of machinery-bearing industrial floors. Our crew extracted more than 2,000 square feet of deteriorated 6-inch concrete before constructing three custom foundation platforms: a main 1,260-square-foot zone at 10-inch depth, a heavy-duty 504-square-foot structural base poured 24 inches deep for concentrated load support, and an additional 280-square-foot section built to 10-inch specifications. All platforms included precisely molded 2-inch depressions around perimeters to house track installation assemblies, while resilient foam isolation strips were positioned at connection points to block force transmission across separate concrete sections. Recognizing the critical need to sustain manufacturing workflows throughout the project, our team erected a comprehensive containment barrier covering 7,200 square feet to isolate construction zones from ongoing production areas.

Engineering plans specified 5,000 PSI rapid-set concrete reinforced with dual-layer steel bar grids (½” to ⅝” rebar spaced 12 inches on center) rather than standard wire fabric, providing necessary structural support for heavy equipment installations. Randahl’s team handled all construction stages: removing existing slabs, excavating and compacting a 12-inch Class 5 aggregate foundation, followed by power-finished surfaces sealed with professional-grade curing compounds. Our responsibilities extended to grouting track anchor assemblies three weeks after pouring, total waste hauling and offsite disposal, and facilitating independent engineering testing with verified compliance reports. This installation showcases Randahl’s expertise in delivering technically demanding industrial concrete projects that satisfy stringent specifications while preserving continuous manufacturing operations.
