Randahl Construction completed a comprehensive industrial floor replacement at Activar’s manufacturing facility, overseeing both the demolition of the existing slabs and the installation of new foundation systems for critical production equipment. Our crew removed more than 2,000 square feet of deteriorated 6-inch concrete and installed three precision-engineered structural pads: a 1,260-square-foot slab poured to 10 inches, a heavily reinforced 504-square-foot pad built to 24 inches for heavy machinery, and a 280-square-foot slab also placed at 10 inches. Each pad featured 2-inch recessed edge channels to integrate with the rail system and high-density foam isolation joints to prevent vibration and stress transfer between sections. To ensure continuous, safe production during construction, we erected a 7,200-square-foot containment system that isolated the work area, minimizing dust, noise, and disruption to active operations.

The project required 5,000 PSI rapid-set concrete reinforced with a two-layer rebar system (½”–⅝” bars at 12-inch spacing), offering enhanced load-bearing strength over traditional wire mesh and providing the durability needed for heavy industrial machinery. Randahl Construction’s self-performing crew handled the complete scope, including demolition of the existing slab, subgrade excavation, and installation and compaction of a 12-inch Class 5 aggregate base to precise engineering standards. The newly placed concrete was finished with a power-trowel and treated with premium curing compounds to ensure long-lasting performance. Follow-up work included grouting the track anchor systems after the required three-week curing period, managing full debris and soil removal, and coordinating certified third-party engineering tests. This installation demonstrates Randahl Construction’s expertise in delivering high-strength, precision industrial concrete solutions that meet strict engineering requirements while keeping facility operations uninterrupted.
