Randahl Construction completed a full industrial floor replacement at Activar’s production facility, removing over 2,000 square feet of deteriorated 6-inch concrete and installing three precision-engineered equipment foundations: a 1,260-square-foot slab at 10-inch depth, a 504-square-foot heavy-duty base at 24-inch thickness for high-capacity machinery, and a 280-square-foot platform at 10-inch depth. Each foundation included 2-inch recessed perimeter channels for rail integration and high-density foam isolation joints to prevent vibration and stress transfer between sections. A 7,200-square-foot containment enclosure separated the work zone from active operations, minimizing dust, noise, and production disruptions throughout construction.

Project specifications called for 5,000 PSI rapid-set concrete reinforced with dual-layer rebar (½”–⅝” bars at 12-inch intervals), providing superior load capacity compared to conventional wire mesh and delivering the structural integrity required for heavy manufacturing equipment. Our self-performing team managed every phase—demolishing the original slab, excavating and preparing the subgrade, then installing and compacting a 12-inch Class 5 aggregate base built to exact engineering tolerances. The fresh concrete received a power-troweled surface treatment and was protected with premium curing compounds to optimize long-term performance. Following the pour, we completed all finishing work, including grouting track anchor systems after a three-week cure time, handling complete material removal and disposal, and arranging certified independent engineering verification. This project demonstrates Randahl Construction’s capability in executing high-strength, engineered industrial concrete systems that satisfy rigorous technical standards while maintaining uninterrupted facility operations.
