So Good So You - Structural Concrete Equipment Pad Installation
Randahl Construction completed a structural equipment pad installation for So Good So You at their manufacturing facility in Inver Grove Heights, MN. The project involved demolishing 375 square feet of existing 6-inch concrete, plus an additional 16′ x 15′ section for drainage work, followed by excavation of 22 inches of material to accommodate the new foundation. Our team constructed a 60′ x 30′ dust protection barrier to maintain facility operations during construction. The foundation was built with a 10-inch compacted Class 5 base topped with 4-inch EPS rigid insulation for frost protection. A precision 15′ x 25′ equipment pad was poured using 12-inch-thick, 5,000 psi high-early-strength concrete with a double 5/8″ rebar mat at 12″ on center for maximum structural integrity. Half-inch styrofoam expansion joints were installed at all edges for isolation, and the pad was finished with a smooth trowel surface and 8000cs sealer. The project included special inspections, complete removal of excavated materials, and full site cleanup, delivering an engineered foundation capable of supporting 4,500 lbs of cooling equipment for So Good Brands’ operations.
